The intention of Bob Blackburn was originally to use Ford mechanical components in the Graeme Dennison designed, Weltex factory built chassis. But many owners chose to purchase only the Mistral body shell and accessories, such as door catches, hinges etc. and then built a chassis of their own design, and fitted with a wide range of mechanical components.

The photos below of the white Mistral no 27 show a particularly good example of a Weltex factory design. A 1958 built car, with Ford 100E 1172cc engine and running gear. It was for sale on TradeMe in 2016. It would be great if the current owner could contact me?
